There are many methods that can help you to reprogram your mind. There is a branch of psychology called Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) which deals in depth on the functioning of the mind and how to reprogram it so that eventually we start getting what we want and live a better life.
Without going into the complexities of NLP; it has been observed that there are many simple ‘Do it Yourself’ methods for re-engineering your mind, as follows which can help you to get positive results:
1. Auto suggestions: This method involves continuous repetition of what you want to think and the way you want to think. Say for example, if you are feeling low and lack confidence about something, then you can keep auto suggesting that “I am confident about doing…..”, “I can do it” etc. Over a period of time, these repeated auto suggestions will help you to get over your weaknesses.
2. Positive Affirmations: These are positive ways to feed your mind about a general outlook and the pattern of thinking that you wish to have in life. You may start with it at the start of the day and keep repeating them over and over again so that your mind gets accustomed to the new way of thinking. For example, if you are having financial problems, then you need to start using positive affirmations like: “I am getting many opportunities to make money, money comes to me easily and effortlessly” etc. Simply using and repeating these affirmations will not help; you need to believe in them as well.
3. Visualizations: As per psychologist, our mind understands and works through images. Visualization and positive imaging techniques are the best ways to channelize your thinking process towards what you want to have or what you want to become in life. This method is the very foundation of making the Law of Attraction work for you. You need to start visualizing about your desires as if they are materializing in present moment. When you visualize strongly, your mind will generate the appropriate thinking process necessary to make those desires and wishes come true.
You may start with any of the above methods. But important aspect is to continue working with them. You need to have patience, because changes in your thinking process will not happen immediately. You’ll feel a gradual changes in your thought patterns which will give you the necessary motivation and direction to take appropriate actions. Thus you life will start undergoing a positive change and you’ll be more closer to getting your desires fulfilled.
